Five Simple Steps to Install

1) Measure Your WELL - Well Measurements

Koenders Water Pumps makes it so easy for the customer that all you need to do when ordering your Koenders Water Pump system is to let us know how deep your static water level is and what vertical lift you require to pump. Static water level is the measurement between your water surface in the well and the ground. Vertical lift is between the well head and to where ever you are pumping the water to. We will ensure that your pump settings are correct before you even take delivery of your Solar Water Pump.

The other measurement that we need is the diameter of your well casing. It needs to be at least 4 inches to accommodate one of our well pumps and can be much larger. (See System Installation Diagram for Details)

2) Controller and Pump Installation Diagram simply determine where you would like to install the Solar Panels and Controller

Controller and Pump Installation Diagram simply determine where you would like to install the Solar Panels and Controller (ideally in a sunny south facing area close to your well. This will minimize the amount of cable needed to power the pump. The Controller manages the energy being produced by the Sun's rays and directs it to the DC powered water pump that is in your well. We suggest you sketch out a quick diagram of the area and where you are going to place each of the components.

Label where the solar panels are going to go, the controller, the well where the pump will reside and the water tank that will receive the water that is pumped up from the well. Draw in where you want to trench the lines. Generally the controller is mounted on the same pole as the solar electric modules.

3) Dig Your Trenches and Anchor your Solar Panel Rack Mount

Following your diagram - trench a ditch about 8-12 inches deep between where your solar panels and controller will be located and the well that the water pump will be placed. Dig your hole for the rack mount - 1.5 FT in diameter and 3.5 FT down. Place your cable in the trench and place the base of your solar panel rack in the hole - then pour in concrete to secure it. Once hardened secure the solar panels to the Rack and the Controller to the pole.

4) Place the Water Pump in Well

Connect the electric power cable sometimes referred to as the drop cable to the leads of the motor on the water pump. There is a water proof splice kit that is included with this package so that you can make sure that this connection is water tight.

Connect the hose line (referred to as drop pipe) that will pump the water out from the well pump to the drop cable and a safety rope. The safety rope, the drop pipe and the drop cable are all attached to the water pump. Every 10 FT tie the safety rope, drop cable and drop pipe together.

Continue this process until the water pump is submersed just below the static water level (about 2 FT below).

5) Connect the Wires

Now its time to connect all the wires up and start pumping water.
Switch the disconnect switch to on
Turn on/off switch to on

** Remember to always shut down all power when working on the system.
Keep water away from the controller, and mount in a shaded well ventilated area
